Paintings
Most of my paintings are kiln-fired vitreous enamel on glass. Vitreous enamel is the same paint that has been used on stained glass windows for over 800 years.
Composed of finely ground coloured glass, the powdered “paint” is mixed with binders and applied to the glass over a light table, or on a glass easel. It is then fired in a kiln at 1100-1200 degrees Fahrenheit, which fuses the powdered glass paint permanently to the host glass. Multiple firings in computer-controlled kilns are used to add complexity and depth.
